Anime “Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange” Casts Yōko Hikasa, Kōhei Amasaki

The team behind the TV anime adaptation of Masahito Soda and Kuro Tomiyama‘s Megumi no Daigo: Kyūkoku no Orange manga, also known as “Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange”, have revealed that Yōko Hikasa and Kōhei Amasaki are set to join the cast for the second cours (quarter of a year).

Hikasa is slated to portray Toyomu Altonen, a trustworthy veteran of the Tokyo Fire Department, proficient in mechanics.

Amasaki is expected to breathe life into the character of Hiromi Kittaka, a member from a competing firefighting unit, who inevitably turns into Daigo’s personal competitor in many respects.

The next segment of the series debuted on January 6th.

The anime had its premiere on September 30th. Crunchyroll is facilitating a streaming service, broadcasting the series concurrently with its airing in Japan.

The narrative illustrates the journey of three aspiring firefighters destined to be saviours of Japan, undergoing personal growth! Toake Daigo radiates with exceptional aptitude and unmatched commitment. Onoda Shun fights against the obstacles hindering his path. Nakamura Yuki aspires to be one of the rare women to be part of the special rescue group, “Orange”. When these three young firefighters, all aiming to join Orange, unite, the tale of how the future saviours of Japan emerges begins…and what confronts them is a crisis threatening the nation!

Masahiko Murata (Naruto Shippūden, To Your Eternity) is serving as the series’ director at Brains Base. Hitomi Tsuruta (World Trigger) and Koji Yabuno (Space Brothers) are responsible for character design. Shinzō FujitaTo Your Eternity is overseeing the series composition.

Soda and Tomiyama. introduced the manga in Kodansha‘s Monthly Shonen Magazine in October 2020. Viz Media has published all the 20 volumes of Soda’s original Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M (Megumi no Daigo) manga. The original manga by Soda ran in Shogakukan‘s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from 1995 till 1999.
