Anime Rascal Does Not Dream: University Arc Video Available Online
During the New Year’s live stream for the light novels Seishun Buta Yarô, a promotional video was shared, which revealed the adaptation of the “University Student Arc” into an anime:
Additionally, an image for the exhibition, “Rascal Does Not Dream of School Memory -Aobuta Exhibition-“, was also revealed. This exhibition will be held from March 12 to 14 on the 8th floor (Event Square Area) of MATSUYA GINZA shopping center, located in Tokyo. The exhibition is expected to move to Nagoya, Osaka, and Kyoto subsequently. Another large-scale event, “Rascal Does Not Dream of Sugar Diary”, will take place on April 7 at the Civic cultural center of Chigasaki – located south of Tokyo (in Kanagawa).
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid was released on December 1 grabbing the 4th position at the box-office. It recorded 119,000 admissions and 163 million yen in the first three days of its release.
The first movie, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, debuted on 23rd June in Japan. It had 118,108 admissions in the first three days and earned 175,648,924 yen, managing to secure the 4th spot at the box-office.
The anime Seishun Buta Yarô wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai (referred to as Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai), which is based on the light novels, was released in Japan in October 2018 for 13 episodes. It adapts the story of the novels up to the 5th volume.
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (Seishun Buta Yarô wa Yume-Miru Shôjo no Yume wo Minai), the animated film covering volumes 6 and 7, debuted in Japan in June 2019.
The novels remain unpublished in France to this day, however, their manga adaptation, illustrated by Nanamiya Tsugumi, is available through Ototo.
