Craft Egg, Former Developer of BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!, to Be Dissolved
The former developer of the smartphone game
BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!, referred to as
disclosed on Wednesday of their imminent dissolution and the upcoming merger with their parent company
. The consolidation with
Craft Egg is scheduled to occur on April 1 for the purpose of better personnel resource management.
It has also been revealed that the iDELiTE FiGURE brand will take over the Colorful Palette company, and both entities will continue to operate.
On December 18, the
BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! game’s official Twitter account revealed that Craft Egg would step down from the game’s development and maintenance work, which would now be solely handled by Bushiroad from January 4 onwards. With the shift in management and operations, all game data, including paid items and unused balances, were transferred to Bushiroad on the same day.
In March 2017, Bushiroad and Craft Egg together launched the game in Japan. Later, its English version was released worldwide in April 2018. Then in September 2021, the game’s Nintendo Switch adaptation was introduced to the world.
Also, the game inspired a BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico miniature anime adaptation that aired for three seasons. The initial season of the mini anime commenced in July 2018 featuring as part of the BanG Dream! TV variety program, and was also streamed on the BanG Dream! Channel on YouTube. The second season, called BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!☆PICO ~OHMORI~, was broadcasted on the BanG Dream! TV LIVE 2020 stream on BanG Dream! Channel via YouTube and Periscope, starting from May 2020. The third season, known as BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico Fever!, came out on YouTube‘s “TV LIVE 2021” program in October 2021 and was later broadcasted on channels Tokyo MX and AT-X by the month-end of the same year.
