‘Demon School, Iruma-kun’ Kalego Spinoff Manga Concludes Next Week
Akita Publishing’s sixth publication this year, revealed in its Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine that the spinoff manga of Osamu Nishi’s ‘Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun’ series will come to an end with the release of the seventh issue on January 18. The spinoff, which is titled ‘Mairimashita! Iruma-kun: Kalego Gaiden’ (Kalego Side Story), includes five chapters.
The spinoff revolves around Kalego’s life as a student. Here is how the magazine describes the storyline:
A powerless Opera is overheard by a young Kalego, sparking his curiosity about the demon school’s public order of evil.
The spinoff was introduced in the ‘Weekly Shōnen Champion’ on December 7.
Prior to this, Nishi had created a two-chapter ‘Kalego Gaiden’ spinoff manga in 2020. Another spinoff titled ‘Mairimashita! Iruma-kun if Episode of Mafia’ launched by hiroja was put forth in Akita Shoten’s ‘Bessatsu Shōnen Champion’ magazine on September 12.
Nishi initiated the ‘Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun’ manga in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in March 2017.
The ‘Mairimashita! Iruma-kun’ plot follows the life of Iruma, a 14-year-old boy who is kind-hearted. His parents, for their own gain, sell him to demons. Happily, the demon to whom he is given doesn’t have a grandson, and hence, he adores Iruma and sends him to demon school.
The manga inspired an anime adaptation that was premiered in October 2019 on NHK Educational with 23 episodes. Crunchyroll offered the anime with the title ‘Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun’ in Japan and added an English dub for viewers.
In April 2021, the anime returned with a second season. Crunchyroll not only aired the series as it unfolded but also released an English dub in June 2021.
The third season of the anime began in October 2022. Similar to past releases, Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it was on air in Japan and provided an English dub version as well.
