Detective Conan: Bride of Halloween Manga Concludes, Magician of the Silver Sky Begins in February

The March edition of
Shogakukan
‘s
Shōnen Sunday S
periodical brought to a close the manga adaptation of the
Yutaka Abe
and
Jirō Maruden
edition of
Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween,
which is the 25th anime
motion picture
in the
Detective Conan

series
. The authors are planning to bring out yet another manga adaptation of
Detective Conan: Magician of the Silver Sky,
this series’s eighth film, in the forthcoming magazine issue, due on February 24.

This year’s nineth issue of Shogakukan‘s Weekly Shonen Sunday periodical, made it known last Thursday that the series is scheduling a comeback for a manga series that hasn’t seen print in seven years, in the magazine’s 20th issue, which will be out on April 10. There is a strong presumption that the reference is to Gosho Aoyama‘s Magic Kaito manga, whose last compilation in its fifth book volume occurred in 2017. Aoyama has been releasing chapters of this series at an unpredictable tempo since 1988. Kaito Kid, the series’s protagonist, often appears in Detective Conan episodes, and is slated for a key role in the imminent Detective Conan: Hyakuman Doru no Michishirube movie.

The Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween manga appeared under the aegis of Abe and Maruden in Shōnen Sunday S back in June 2023.

These authors have also created manga versions of previous movies in the franchise. Preceding Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween, the duo crafted the manga interpretation of the Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno (Meitantei Conan: Gōka no Himawari) anime film, which ended its run in May 2023.

Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween (Meitantei Conan: Halloween no Hanayome), the 25th anime movie in the franchise, was first shown in theaters in Japan in April 2022.

Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine (Iron Submarine), the 26th film, premiered in Japan in April 2023. Detective Conan: Hyakuman Doru no Michishirube (The Million-Dollar Five Guiding Stars), the 27th film in the series, is scheduled for release on April 12.
