An Overview of the Game by Square Enix

Square Enix provides the following synopsis about the game:

In the world of FOAMSTARS, foam is the most valuable resource. It’s dynamically used in numerous ways: It can create slippery surfaces, enabling players to zip around the arena at rocket speed; it has the ability to generate landscape, supplying players with a means to barricade themselves from enemy attack or erecting high vantage points for better competitor visibility and subsequent targeting; lastly, the foam can be used on the competition to secure a match win.

The Use of AI in Creating Game Assets

Square Enix in collaboration with the game’s producer Kosuke Okatani confirmed that AI-generated assets were incorporated in the game’s creation. The development team made use of the AI-powered program, Midjourney, to produce compact artwork for the in-game icons and album shield-cases. Okatani makes it clear that the majority of the game’s structure, including its distinctive gameplay and design features, are human-made and assures that about “0.01 percent or possibly less” of the game’s content is AI-generated.
