Gundam Seed FREEDOM Film Generates Over 770 Million Yen in First Two Days of Screening
The popular web platform Mantan Web surfaced news concerning the
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM
that over the first two days of showing, it garnered over 500,000 admissions yielding a whopping 770 million yen. The film’s target includes a projection in 56 countries and territories around the globe.
It debuted in Japan’s cinemas on Friday.
Compared to this, Monbile Suit Gundam Hathaway drew in its first three days of screening in June 2021 259,074 admissions earning 523,943,800 yen. The film landed at third place in the box office on its opening weekend. It was the first film from the franchise to cross the billion yen milestone since Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack, which was released in 1988; with about 2.21 billion yen in its total revenue.
Mitsuo Fukuda (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed) is the film’s director at Bandai Namco Filmworks. He co-writes the script with his late wife Chiaki Morosawa and Liu Goto. Hisashi Hirai (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed) is responsible for the character design.
Takanori Nishikawa (also known as T.M. Revolution) performs the musical theme, freedom, produced by t.komuro (Tetsuya Komuro). Returning for the outro is See-Saw with ending, Sarigiwa no Romantics – the duo’s first song in almost two decades.
