Haikyu!! Fly High: New Smartphone Card Game Announced

The corporation KLab Inc. made a public announcement on Friday, stating it will take on the distribution of Changyou and Prophet Games’ anticipated Haikyu!! Fly High smartphone game. This game is created based on Haruichi Furudate’s popular Haikyu!! manga series. A website along with several social media accounts have been established, helping to promote the sports card game.

In Japan, pre-registration and pre-orders for the game have commenced. Following Japan’s release, the game will be launched in other regions, to be announced at a later date. KLab Inc provides the following description of the game:

Haikyu!! Fly High is a sports card game that emphasizes collecting. It brings to life beloved scenes and quotes from the original animated series! Players have the opportunity to construct their own team and employ various strategies to win matches. Not only will original series fanatics appreciate Haikyu!! Fly High, but also anyone with a fondness for the sport of volleyball!

The original Haikyu!! manga series by Furudate was first published in 2011, and concluded in July 2020. Shueisha released the manga’s 45th and final volume in November 2020. Viz Media has published the manga both digitally and in print, even simultaneously with its release in Japan. The manga is also digitally published in English by MANGA Plus.

The first film of the two-part Haikyu!! Final sequel film project, Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump, will have its premiere in Japan on February 16, and it will also be screened in IMAX.

The first television anime adaptation of the manga by Production I.G was aired in April 2014. This was followed by the second season in October 2015 and the third season in October 2016. The first part of the fourth season, Haikyu!! To The Top, debuted in January 2020 with the 13th episode airing in April 2020. The second half, episodes 14 to 25, was slated to be premiered in July 2020, but due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, it was delayed. It eventually premiered in October 2020.

Beyond the manga, the Haikyu!! brand has generated a series of theatrical productions, a clay-animated short, compilation anime film adaptations, and various video anime. Recently, a new stage play was presented from August 19-27.
