Healing Magic Anime English Dub Cast Revealed, Premieres January 18
Crunchyroll, a popular anime streaming service, has revealed plans for an English dubbed version of “The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic“, a television anime adaptation of Kurokata’s light novel series “The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic: Recovery Team Running Through the Battlefield“. The platform intends to begin the stream on Friday.
The English voice cast will feature:
- Alejandro Saab voicing Usato,
- Colleen Clinkenbeard lending her voice to Rose,
- Alexis Tipton as Suzune,
- Matt Holmes playing Kazuki,
- Jim Jorgensen voicing Lloyd,
- Jill Harris as Welcie,
- David Wald as Tong,
- Marcus D. Stimac voicing Alec,
- Cris George as Mill,
- Anthony Bowling playing Gomul, and
- Rudy Lopez as Gurd.
The directorial role for the English-language version will be handled by Caitlin Glass. Samantha Herek will be at the reigns as the producer, and the adaptation credits go to Jarrod Greene. The engineering work will be managed by Jamal Roberson.
The debut of The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic anime was on January 5th. Crunchyroll is providing a streaming service for the series as each episode is being aired.
Takahide Ogata, who has worked on popular anime like “Kaiketsu Zorori: Lalala♪ Star Tanjō”, “Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori”, is directing the anime at Studio Add and Shinei Animation. The responsibility of the series scripts is in the hands of Shogo Yasukawa, known for his work in “Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma”, “Quality Assurance in Another World”. Character development is being overseen by Kenji Tanabe, known for his work on “BLUELOCK”. The composition of the music is being done by Elements Garden with inputs from Hitoshi Fujima and Seima Kondō.
The anime’s opening theme song, “Cure”, is performed by waterweed and the ending theme song, “Green Jade”, is sung by ChouCho.
The comedic fantasy anime with battles, “The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic”, starts with a high school student named Usato, accidentally stumbling upon student council president Suzune and classmate Kazuki on his way home. Suddenly, they are mysteriously swallowed by a magic circle and transported to an alien world.
These three characters are summoned as heroes to save a kingdom from the army of a demon king. However, it appears only Suzune and Kazuki possess the qualities of heroes while Usato seems to have been accidentally caught in their company.
The plot takes a twist as it is discovered that Usato possesses a unique knowledge of healing magic. He gets kidnapped by a woman named Rose, who introduces herself as the head of a life-saving squad and welcomes him in her team.
The creator of the light novel series, Kurokata, debuted it on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in March 2014. The first volume of the novel containing illustrations by KeG was published by the MF Books imprint in March 2016, and the series concluded with the 12th volume in March 2020. A manga adaptation of the story is being done by Reki Kyūgazan, and it is being published in printed volumes by Kadokawa.
