Henshin Anime Consulting Practice Launched by Rob Pereyda

Previous leading figure of Crunchyroll, Viz Media, and Netflix, Rob Pereyda, disclosed on Friday that he has initiated his venture Henshin. This new enterprise is primed to be the first-ever management consulting firm solely for the anime domain. With the Japanese term Henshin denoting ‘transformation’, the company aspires to provide strategic guidance to entities in the areas of industry comprehension, business ramp-up, innovative content with an emphasis on the convergence of anime, games, manga, and related industries. The key service provisions are inclusive of market introduction, business enhancement, executive production, and implications in mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

In his illustrious career, Pereyda took on the role of headship for anime, editorship, and publishing at Netflix in Tokyo for the period spanning 2020-2022. He parted ways with Netflix in the year 2022 and associated with 555 Comics till the end of the year, December.

Another significant stint was at Viz Media for Pereyda, where he was the vice president in charge of business growth and strategy formulation from May 2016 to January 2020. Also holding the position of chief executive officer for the streaming service Viewster, Pereyda worked as the vice president for business growth and network strategy formulation at Bandai Namco Games. In March 2008, he enrolled with Crunchyroll as vice president of licensing where his responsibilities spanned across negotiation with Japanese production entities and licensors for acquiring titles for Crunchyroll’s streaming channels. He resigned in 2011. In Northern California, Pereyda initiated and directed the Anime Overdose conference (currently referred to as AOD or Animation on Display). Before joining Crunchyroll, he had worked with both CAPCOM and Konami.
