Infinite Wealth Game: Like a Dragon Streams Opening Sequence

On Tuesday, SEGA along with Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio began sharing the introductory film of their latest project titled Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth or in Japanese Ryū ga Gotoku 8, which is an adventure role-playing game.

Players will be able to play the game on Friday through various platforms such as PlayStation 5 and 4, the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One console, as well as PC through Windows and Steam.

The storyline in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, according to RGG Studio, involves “an unforeseen sequence of events sends Kasuga Ichiban and Kazuma Kiryu, two legendary ex-yakuza heroes, on an extraordinary adventure with both characters being playable.”. Kasuga Ichiban embarks on a journey to Honolulu in search of his mother, marking the first time the game series takes place in an international location. Additionally, the narrative covers Kazuma Kiryu’s struggle against cancer.

The game serves as a direct continuation to Yakuza: Like a Dragon. In September 2022, Sega revealed that this game is the newest, eighth major installment in the Yakuza/Like A Dragon series.

Kazuma Kiryu, a former Yakuza member, was the main character in the original six Yakuza games as well as in the Yakuza 0 prequel. The game, Yakuza: Like A Dragon which is known in Japan as Ryū ga Gotoku 7: Hikari to Yami no Yukue (Yakuza 7: The Path of Light and Dark), centers around Ichiban Kasuga. Sega launched the game for PS4 in Japan in January 2020 and released it in the West for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows 10 and PC via Steam in November 2020.
