The following list details the top-selling video games in Japan during the week of January 15-21. Each entry is ranked by sales numbers and reveals the console, game title, publisher, release date, weekly copies sold, and the game’s total sales:

Brandishing the number one spot is “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” for the PS5, produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment and released on October 20, 2023. In the referenced week, it sold 30,220 copies bringing its cumulative tally to a respectable 243,612.

Claiming the second position is “Momotaro Dentetsu World: Chikyū wa Kibō de Mawatteru!” for NSw and published by Konami. Released on November 16, 2023, the game managed to sell 16,733 copies that week, contributing to its notable 936,936 total sales.

Third on the list is “Super Mario Bros. Wonder”, again for NSw and brought to market by powerhouse Nintendo. Released on October 20, 2023, this iteration of the beloved franchise moved 16,654 weekly copies and boasts overall sales of 1,687,342.

Making its debut on the list is “Another Code: Recollection” for NSw, released by Nintendo on January 19. The game sold an impressive 15,741 copies in its first week of release.

Coming in fifth is “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” for NSw, another success story from Nintendo. Released on April 28, 2017, it continues to demonstrate remarkable longevity, selling 8,267 copies in the one week and accumulating a whopping 5,680,781 sales in total.

In sixth place, “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” for NSw published by Nintendo has sold 5,790 copies this week. Since its release on March 20, 2020, the game has totaled a staggering 7,673,551 sales.

“Minecraft” for NSw, released on June 21, 2018, by Nintendo, sold 5,788 copies that week, bringing the total to 3,424,744 copies.

The eighth place is held by “Pokémon Scarlet/Violet” for NSw and developed by Nintendo. Released on November 18, 2022, the game sold 5,670 copies in the past week, contributing to an overall sale of 5,278,988.

In the ninth position is “Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince” for NSw, crafted by Square Enix. Released on December 1, 2023, the title managed to sell 5,581 copies last week and has sold 534,841 copies since its release.

Rounding out the top ten is “Pikmin 4” for NSw by Nintendo. Released on July 21, 2023, the title sold 5,438 weekly copies, which contributes to a cumulative sales total of 1,161,358.

Further along in the list are numerous other acclaimed titles, including “Super Smash Brothers Ultimate”, “Pokémon Scarlet/Violet + The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero”, “Splatoon 3”, “Sekai no Asobi Taizen 51”, “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”, “Ring Fit Adventure”, and others for NSw. Additionally, “The Last of Us Part II Remastered” for PS5 also features in the list.
