Junichi Suwabe, Voice Actor, Released From Hospital Post-Surgery

The renowned voice artist,Junichi Suwabe, communicated via his Twitter profile on Thursday that he has left hospital after his recent operation. He mentioned that his recovery following the operation is on the right track and everything is unfolding as anticipated. After resting at home for a week, he plans to resume his professional activities once he feels prepared.

On the 8th of December, Suwaba publicized his intended temporary break from his profession, initiating from the first day of January to go through a surgical procedure advised by his medical practitioner. He clarified that this medical measure is not due to a persisting health issue and is aimed to address his current health condition once executed.

Because of this unexpected break from work, he could not be part of the “Premier Music Reading Theater VOICARION XVII – Shield of the Spoon” show which took place on 6th and 7th of January in Osaka. Voice actor Kōichi Yamadera took his place for those performances. The scheduling of his appearances for the year 2023 were unhindered by this pause in work.

Within the industry, Suwabe is recognized for a myriad of roles that include Undertaker in Black Butler, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez in Bleach, characters like Archer in Fate/stay night, Daiki Aomine in Kuroko’s Basketball, Shota Aizawa in My Hero Academia, and Ren Jingūji in Uta no Prince Sama, among other characters.

Recently, he was selected as the voice of Super Devil in series Bikkuri-Men, character Lügner in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and Admiral Ryokugyu in popular anime, One Piece.
