Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Film Trilogy Begins September 6, Ends Anime Series

During the “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club 6th Live! I Love You ⇆ You Love Me” concert tour, it was declared on Sunday that the anime film trilogy of the franchise will be launched with its first film premiering on September 6. The event on Sunday also took the wraps off some exciting news that this film series will serve as the culmination of the anime’s narrative.


Set against the backdrop of the two previous television seasons and the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Next Sky original video anime project, this anticipated film series will see the return of the core cast and primary production team. The teaser visual for the film trilogy was crafted by Visual Director Kerorira.

The concert on Sunday further unveiled the 7th live concert tour, as well as the franchise’s debut visual novel game.

Screened on the Tokyo MX channel, in addition to being streamed on the Bandai Channel, Line Live, and YouTube Live, the principal season of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club anime first came to life in October 2020. The second season hit the screens in April 2023. Broadcasted in Japan, the anime was later streamed in English dub by Crunchyroll.

The short television anime by Miyakohito, based on their four-panel manga spinoff titled Nijiyon ~Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Dōkōkai Yon-Koma, also known as Nijiyon Animation is slated to return with its second installment on April 5.

In 2017, the franchise‘s team brought forth Nijigasaki Academy’s Idol Appreciation Club members as part of KLab Games and Bushiroad‘s ambitious Love Live! School Idol Festival smartphone game’s “Perfect Dream Project” (PDP).
