Makoto Ojiro and Sankaku Head to Release New Manga in February

The sixth issue of Weekly Big Comic Spirits (Shogakukan) unveiled on Saturday that both manga artists Makoto Ojiro (Insomniacs) and Sankaku Head (Himouto! Umaruchan) will be publishing a manga piece in the upcoming edition of the magazine. Ojiro has a manga planned about comedic sketches, the original story written by a sketch professor, to be featured in the 10th edition of the magazine on February 5th. The title and name of the writer will be announced later.

Sankaku Head will be releasing Boku no Manamusume (provisional title) in the 12th edition of the magazine on February 19th. It will tell the story of a father and daughter living in the countryside.

Ojiro’s manga Insomniacs was released in Big Comic Spirits by Shogakukan in May 2019. It concluded in August 2023, and its 14th and final volume was published on October 12th. In France, it is published by Soleil Editions. It was made into a live-action film that premiered on June 23rd. An anime adaptation was released on April 10th.

Made in Hikkomuse, a manga by Sankaku Head, was released in the Weekly Young Jump in November 2018 and ended with its seventh volume published in January 2021. The author also offered a three-chapter manga titled Ore no Yome no Yome no Ore in the same year.

The artist initiated his manga Himōto! Umaru-chan G in the same magazine in November 2017 and completed it in April 2018. The series is a sequel to his previous title, Himouto! Umaruchan.

It was released, again in the same magazine, in 2013 (after two chapters titled Himouto! Umaruchan! were published in Miracle Jump in 2012). It was wrapped up in November 2017. The 12th and final volume was published in December 2017.

The manga inspired three spin-off manga titles: Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan, which ended in September 2017, Himōto! Umaru-chan S, and Himōto! Umaru-chan SS, which finished in February 2017.

The main manga spawned a 12-episode anime series in July 2015. Its second season, Himouto! Umaru-chan R, premiered in Japan in October 2017.
