On Friday, Shueisha‘s Ribon magazine’s official website announced that Aoi Makino‘s Not Your Idol (also known as Sayonara Miniskirt) manga is set to continue its run starting with the magazine’s May issue, which will be published on April 3.

The manga series had been on a break since the July 2019 edition of the magazine. Besides its publication in Shonen Jump+, the last chapter was published by Shueisha in June 2019.

The manga’s English version is distributed by Viz Media, and its storyline is defined as followed:

This thrilling psychological series follows a girl who leaves her life as an idol behind after becoming a victim of an assault by a fan. Subsequent to this traumatic incident, Nina Kamiyama, a member of the idol group Pure Club, decides to discard her feminine charms and starts dressing as a boy. She opts for a life of solitude in high school, however her fellow student Hikaru Horiuchi uncovers her true identity. The drama unfolds as we delve into the secrets she harbours.

The manga first appeared in the Ribon magazine in August 2018, with Shueisha distributing the second compiled volume in March 2019. In 2020, Viz brought out the second volume in English. In 2019, the manga was shortlisted for the 23rd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. It also claimed the top spot in the “Kono Manga ga Sugoi!” rankings for female readers in 2020.
