The anime version of Hideki Yamada‘s Manyū Hiken-chō (widely known as Manyu Scroll) known for its “exemplary bishōjo action” manga is now available for streaming via Crunchyroll with subtitles in English.

As per Crunchyroll‘s summary of the plot:

The narrative unfolds in the Taiheimeji era where the Tokugawa shogunate assigns a high value to breasts, associating them with wealth and social standing. The Manyu Clan, an ally of the government, bear knowledge of secret methods to grow breasts, as enlisted in a specific scroll. Chifusa, the heiress of the clan, runs away with the said scroll, as an act of resistance against the stern rules dictated by her clan.

The storyline of the manga led to the creation of a television anime series encompassing 12 episodes in the year 2011. The team comprised of Hiraku Kaneko assuming the role of the director and Jun Takagi helming the animation direction. The duo had previously collaborated on the project Seikon no Qwaser.

The series culminated with the publication of the seventh and the concluding compiled book volume in 2012.
