Michael Featured in New Character Trailer for Doctor Elise Anime
The media company Kadokawa has begun streaming a fresh character trailer for Doctor Elise, the television anime crafted from the works of Yuin (Author) and Mini (Illustrator). More specifically, the adaptation is of theirs Surgeon Elise or “Gekai Elise” in Japanese and “Oegwauisa Elise” in Korean, which are medical reincarnation fantasy web novels and vertical-scrolling manwha. The latest trailer introduces the character Michael on Monday.
Prior to this, the digital platform had unfolded character teasers for Elise, Linden, Graham, and Yulian.
Satoshi Shibata (known for By the Grace of the Gods) is serving as the art director. Aki Watanabe (famously attributed for I’m Standing on 1,000,000 Lives.) is heading up color design. The responsibilities of director of photography are in the hands of Yukina Nomura (known for her work on I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss). Noriyoshi Konuma who worked on The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody, takes up the role of sound director. Sound effects are under the helm of Yui Ando, the tech wizard from Mashle: Magic and Muscles. The sound is produced by Simplicity. The musical score is created by Ken Itō whose earlier work involves Burning Kabaddi.

- Satoshi Hino is the voice artist for Ron
- Daisuke Ono voices Lenne De Clorance

- Sōma Saitō lends his voice to Michael De Romanoff.
- Megumi Han stands behind the voice of Yulian De Childe
- Kazuhiko Inoue takes on the voice of character Minchester De Romanoff
The anime is set to
make its debut

streaming platform. Beginning January 15, the anime will be accessible via a variety of other streaming platforms in Japan.
Kumiko Habara (I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss) helms the direction of the anime at Maho Film. Overseeing series composition is Deko Akao (has to her credit Komi Can’t Communicate). In charge of characters design is Yūko Watabe. The anime is co-produced by Kakao Entertainment Corp.
The anime centers around Aoi Takamoto, who was previously an evil empress by the name of Elise, executed by her Spouse, Linden. In her reincarnated life as Aoi in the contemporary world, she takes up the practice of surgery to compensate for her past wrongs. After unfortunately dying in a plane crash, she once again finds herself reincarnated, this time reverted to her previous existence as Elise, a decade prior to her execution. She consciously avoids marriage with Linden to stave off the tragic ending from her past life. Armed with her medical expertise, she resolves to become a doctor once again in this lifetime.
Yuin and Mini launched the manwha on KakaoPage in 2017. Tappytoon holds the rights for the English version under the title Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp. The series wrapped in February 2021. There are a total of 10 volumes for the manwha and four for the original series of novels. The release of the original novel’s Japanese translation launches on January 15, managed by Kadokawa.
