Mika Nakashima Sings Insert Song for Gundam SEED FREEDOM Film

The formal platform of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM movie endeavor revealed on Friday that Mika Nakashima will offer an insert song titled “Bōkyō.”

Nakashima has previously lent her voice for an ending theme song for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed.

The movie is scheduled for release in Japan on Friday. The plot is set in C.E. (Cosmic Era) 75, according to the chronological order of events.

The person behind the director’s chair for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Mitsuo Fukuda, also helmed this film at Bandai Namco Filmworks. Fukuda co-authored the script partnering with his late wife Chiaki Morosawa and Liu Goto. Character designs were handled by Hisashi Hirai who was the character designer for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed.

Takanori Nishikawa, also known as T.M. Revolution, presents the film’s theme music, “Freedom”, produced by t.komuro (Tetsuya Komuro). See-Saw makes a comeback to the series to perform the finale song “Sarigiwa no Romantics” (Romantics Upon Parting); this is their first new track in twenty years.

The film venture is a part of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Project Ignited campaign, which was publicized in 2021. This campaign celebrated the 20th anniversary of the original Mobile Suit Gundam Seed anime series back in 2022 and features numerous aspects. It also encompasses a new Mobile Suit Gundam Seed game and a manga side-story titled Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse.

Director of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Mitsuo Fukuda, authenticated that the film is a continuation of the second Gundam Seed television anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny.

The initial Mobile Suit Gundam Seed telecast anime aired from 2002 to 2003, followed by Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny from 2004 to 2005. The three-part Mobile Suit Gundam Seed C.E.73: Stargazer anime venture was then aired in 2006. The planned film venture was disclosed by Sony Music Anime Festival ’06 in May 2006.

Chiaki Morosawa, the main scriptwriter for the two Gundam Seed series, passed on in 2016 at the age of 56. She had been working together with her husband, who directed both Gundam Seed television series, on the intended Gundam Seed film venture. Morosawa clarified in 2008 that the storyline for the project was ready, but she had been battling illness since the conclusion of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny sequel in 2005.
