Misfit of Demon King Academy II New Video: Cast, Opening Song, 2nd Part Debut on April 12

An announcement made on Tuesday unveiled that the second quarter of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II anime season will debut on April 12. The live stream not only displayed the inaugural video promotion of the next part with the latest cast members but also presented the new opening track “Maō” (Demon King) by BURNOUT SYNDROMES.

They also unveiled the fresh vision for the season’s second cours:

The new members of the anime cast are:

Nao Tōyama playing the character of Arcana


Toshihiko Seki in the role of Ahid Alovo Agartz


Aoi Yūki starring as Militia


The quarter of the year for the second season will kick off on April 12 broadcasted on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 at 24:00 JST which is equivalent to April 13 at 12 midnight JST or April 12 at 11:00 a.m. EDT.

Shin Oonuma (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, A Sister’s All You Need) is reprising his role as the principal director for the anime, and Masafumi Tamura (Two Car, Wise Man’s Grandchild) is giving a comeback as the director. The animation production is backed by SILVER LINK yet again. Kazuyuki Yamayoshi (Chaos;Child) is once more adapting the original character designs by Yoshinori Shizuma for the animation. Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp) is supervising the series scripts yet again. Ryousuke Naya is holding on to the role of the sound director and Keiji Inai is returning to compose the music.

The anime’s premiere season was launched back in July 2020. Crunchyroll streamed the anime when it was aired in Japan.

The anime takes inspiration from Shu‘s The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants (Maō Gakuin no Futekigōsha ~Shijō Saikyō no Maō no Shiso, Tensei Shite Shison-tachi no Gakkō e Kayō) light novel series.

Shu initiated the novel series on the Shōsetsu ni Narō website in April 2017.
