first published the novel series in July 2017, with the ninth and final installment released in August 2020.
The manga adaptation was taken over by Arikan and first appeared in Kadokawa‘s Monthly Comic Alive publication in February 2018. An English version of the manga, retitled Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World?, is being distributed exclusively by BookWalker Global. Below is a brief overview of the narrative:
The narrative unfolds in a post-war world where humans have triumphed over the “Demonic Race”, “Wild God Race”, “Spirit Race”, and “Phantom Beast Race”.
The epic story revolves around Kai, whose responsibility is to safeguard the Black Pyramid, now dubbed the “Crypts”, where the defeated races have been sealed by “Prophet Sid”.
In the midst of peace, an unusual event referred to as “World Rebirth” shatters Kai’s reality, waking up in an alternative world where he is a stranger with no memory of his past. But he remembers everyone else!
Apart from “Why Nobody Remembers My World?”, Sazane’s other light novel series, Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru (also known as God’s Game We Play or literally, God is Hungry for Games), is also set for a televised anime debut this year, scheduled to premiere in April.
In addition, a second season for the television anime adaptation of Sazane and Ao Nekonabe‘s novel series Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World (or Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjō, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen), is expected to air this year, once the delay is resolved. The first season made its debut in October 2020.
To celebrate Sazane’s three works being adapted into anime this year, Kadokawa together with Happinet are planning a special cross-promotion campaign featuring giveaway events on several social media platforms.
