Natsuki Deguchi Cast in Live-Action Blue Moment Series

The official internet site for the real-life adaptation series of manga artist Kana Ozawa‘s work, Blue Moment announced on Wednesday that Natsuki Deguchi will become part of the cast, taking on the role of the primary character Aya Kumota. The webpage broadcasted an image featuring Deguchi (on the right side of the photo below) alongside the previously declared cast member Tomohisa Yamashita (on the left), who personifies Kankurō Haruhara in the production.

The debut of the series is targeted for April, with directing being handled by Ryō Tanaka. The man behind the scripts is Hideya Hamada, while the score for the series will be composed by Naoki Satō.

The manga features the character Aya Kumota, a young woman who has just begun her career at the Japan Meteorological Agency. Here, she encounters an attractive man named Kankurō Haruhara. As she cultivates a relationship with him, she finds out he is an employee in the front-line disaster response unit, SDM.

The artist Kana Ozawa initiated the original manga on Comic Bridge Online, a website owned by Kadokawa, back in November of 2018. The second volume of the manga’s compilation got published by the same company in September of 2020.

A separate manga from the author Ozawa, Blue Thermal -Aonagi Daigaku Taiiku-kai Kōkū-bu-, or (Aonagi College Sports Festival Aviation Club) had a run in the Shinchosha produced magazine Monthly Comic @Bunch, starting from April 2014 until November 2017. Shinchosha also published five collective volumes. Ozawa debuted a prequel manga by the name Blue Thermal: First Flight on the LINE Manga application in November 2021 which concluded in January 2022. Shinchosha published the manga’s single compiled book volume in February 2022.

An animated film version of the manga appeared in Japanese theaters in March 2022. The movie has been made available by Eleven Arts on home video format.
