The series, Ninja Kamui focuses on Joe Higan, a Nukenin, a runaway ninja who has left his clan and now resides with his family in rural America, where he is on the run from his violent past. Unexpectedly, he is attacked by a group of assassins belonging to his past organization who enact a bloody revenge on Joe and his family because of his betrayal of their ancient code. After he seemingly “dies,” Joe rises up again as his old self, Ninja Kamui, to seek revenge for his family and friends. As a 21st century ninja, Kamui compellingly blends old techniques with modern weaponry to bring down his old clan.

Sunghoo Park who has also directed Jujutsu Kaisen, and The God of High School) is at the helm of this futuristic action/adventure anime Ninja Kamui. The characters are designed by Takeshi Okazaki, known for Afro Samurai, Star Wars: Visions, and Batman Ninja. The series is produced by Park’s new studio E&H production in collaboration with Sola Entertainment which has produced works like Lord of The Rings: War of The Rohirrim, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, and Ultraman.

The show will also be adapted into a game, titled Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins, is set to release in the spring of 2024.
