Super Mario Bros. Movie, The Boy and the Heron Nominated at Producers Guild Awards
The American Producers Guild has shortlisted Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron (aka Kimi-tachi wa Dō Ikiru ka or How Do You Live? in English) and The Super Mario Bros. Movie for the Distinguished Producer of Animated Theatrical Films category at the 2024 Producers Guild Awards (PGA). The prestigious event is slated for February 25.
In another development, the Casting Society of America included Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in its shortlist for the Zeitgeist Award at the upcoming 39th Artios Awards. This ceremony is scheduled for March 7.
Additionally, Godzilla Minus One managed to secure nominations in three different categories at the Asian Film Awards, held on Friday. Hamabe Minami is in contention for the Best Supporting Actress category, whereas Yamazaki Takashi, Shibuya Kiyoko, Takahashi Masaki, and Nojima Tatsuji have been put forward for the Best Visual Effects award. Inoue Natsuki’s name is listed in the Best Sound category for the film. The winners are to be revealed on March 10.
