Wonderful Precure! Anime to be Streamed on Crunchyroll

On Friday, Crunchyroll released a statement to say it will make the Wonderful Precure! anime available for streaming starting on Saturday at 8:30 pm EST. It will be accessible for audiences in various regions including North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The English-subtitled trailer was shared online by Toei Animation:


The anime premiere is set to be aired on Asahi Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), TV Asahi and 22 other affiliated channels on Sunday at 8:30 am JST.

The premise of Wonderful Precure!, which is known as “Wandafuru” in katakana and can be translated to “dog” or the sound a dog makes in Japanese, involves Iroha Inukai, a second-year junior high school student living in Animal Town, where animals and humans coexist peacefully. Iroha’s best friend is her dog, Komugi. Unexpectedly, the pair crosses paths with a strange creature named Gargal, who disrupts the tranquility in the city. To protect Iroha, Komugi transforms into a ‘Pretty Cure’ named ‘Cure Wonderful’.

The opening theme song titled “Wonderful Cure! evolution!!” has been created by Chihaya Yoshitake. The closing theme song “FUN☆FUN☆Wonderful DAYS” is performed by Ami Ishii and Moeha Nochimoto.

Masanori Satō, who has previously worked as an episode director on series like Butt Detective and Thriller Restaurant, is the director of the new anime. The project’s script and semblance are being supervised by Yoshimi Narita, recognizable for Futari wa Precure Splash Star, Futari wa Precure Splash Star Tick Tack Kiki Ippatsu!, and Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart. The characters are designed by Yoko Uchida known for her work on the 2023 Rurouni Kenshin and Mecha-Ude. Other important contributors to the project include NaSka in charge of costume and prop design, Rie Iida overseeing art design, and Miki Imai serving as the anime’s art director. Naomi Kiyota is in charge of color design, and Erika Fukasawa is responsible for the music. The anime is being produced by ABC TV, ABC Animation, ADK Emotions, and Toei Animation.

On January 28 at 4:00 p.m. JST, a special program titled “Wonderful Cure! ~Ouchi de Ohirome Show~ (Wonderful Cure! Introduction Show)” was streamed on the Precure YouTube channel. Cure Wonderful and Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure‘s Cure Sky appeared in the show offering dance lessons, quizzes, and games.

The 20th Precure (Pretty Cure) television anime series known as Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure or Hirogaru Sky! Precure, premiered over Asahi Broadcasting Corporation TV and TV Asahi in February 2023. The show is streamed by Crunchyroll as it is broadcast in Japan.

Finally, a 12-episode anime called Power of Hope: Precure Full Bloom, premiered on NHK Educational on October 7. The series is also being streamed by Crunchyroll.
